The Overstimulated
Nervous System:
What's Happening
and What Helps

Saturday, July 11  ·  10:00 – 12:00 am Pacific  ·  Free  ·  Online

Most people who come to this work are not struggling because they lack insight. They understand their patterns. They have read the books, done the therapy, tried the breathwork. What they often lack is a working model of why the nervous system responds the way it does — and what kinds of practice actually produce change at that level.

This two-hour class is a primer. We will look at what is actually happening in a dysregulated nervous system, why insight alone rarely changes behavior, and what the research and contemplative traditions agree on when it comes to building genuine, durable steadiness.

It is free. It is online. It asks nothing of you but attention.

What the class covers

  • The basic architecture of the nervous system — what it is actually doing when you feel overwhelmed, shut down, or stuck in a loop
  • Why the most insightful people are often the most stuck — the structural gap between knowing and changing
  • What dysregulation actually looks like in a high-functioning adult (it is rarely what people expect)
  • The difference between managing your inner experience and developing the capacity to be with it
  • Practical tools drawn from attention training, somatic practice, and classical contemplative tradition — with a clear explanation of why they work
  • A short, guided practice you can use immediately
