A weekly in-person yoga class in Santa Barbara, open to everyone. Whether you have never set foot on a mat or have practiced for years, this class is designed to meet you where you are.
Come as you are. The practice will take form from there.

Each session moves at a pace that allows the nervous system to actually settle. Expect gentle flow, longer holds, and classical Tantric techniques — mantra, kriya, pranayama — woven throughout rather than added on. The class closes with guided meditation.
No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or Tantric philosophy is needed. No particular level of flexibility, fitness, or familiarity with the practice. Only a willingness to slow down and stay close to your own experience.
What to expect
- Gentle Hatha flow at a pace that invites the nervous system to downshift
- Classical Tantric techniques woven throughout: mantra, kriya, pranayama
- Long holds in restorative postures that allow the body to release
- Guided meditation to close each session
- A welcoming room for beginners, experienced practitioners, and everyone in between
Everything you need is already there. The Santa Barbara Yoga Center has all props and supplies — mats, blocks, blankets, straps. Bring your own mat if you have one and prefer it, but there is nothing you need to bring or prepare in advance.
Starting July 8th, join us weekly on Wednesday mornings
No registration required. Arrive a few minutes before 9:15, and someone will get you settled. First time at SBYC or new to yoga entirely — you are welcome here.
